Some More of God’s Greatest Mistakes

All I did was ask my dad about Jesus like my teacher told me to.  It must have been something bad because he started yelling stuff like ”Who’s been sermonizing my son?  I knew this would happen!”  Mom said he wasn’t mad at me, he was mad at the teacher and the school board and the government.

What happened was… I think it had to do with my friend JJ.  JJ is in my class this year and he got this awesome cast on his leg from whitewater rafting up in Maine for his vacation.  To start the day we said the pledge of allegiance and the teacher taught us a prayer to say also.  Then when the prayer was over she asked Jesus to help JJ’s leg heal quickly.  So after I just asked her things about that and she said to ask my parents.

Mom said dad was mad because before this year the government used to say you couldn’t have prayers in school like that.  That’s true because we never had them that way before.

Later on dad still seemed kindof mad but he told me it wasn’t anything wrong I’d been doing.  He says he’s going to start bringing me to mosque to learn the right prayers to say.  Then mom said there weren’t any right or wrong prayers and he said he didn’t want to argue about it, and they both looked angry.

I never did find out how come JJ’s leg would heal faster from asking Jesus to help it.  Maybe when I go to mosque with dad they’ll tell me.
