Some More of God’s Greatest Mistakes

things could be way worse if i was expected to swim upstream to the spawning ground.

dude.  it is seriously hard work swimming against the current like this.  do you guys really do this every year?  i mean sheesh, what’s so great up at the top of this river that makes this so important?

you guys aren’t very talkative are you?  i get it, you’re busy swimming.  swim, swim, swim.  whooo.  this sure is some workout we’re getting!

what the heck- is that a waterfall?  no way.  dudes you are not seriously expecting me to jump up out of the water and try and swim up a waterfall??  this is totally fucking dumb guys, honestly!  it’s a freaking waterfall.  water!  fall!  it goes down.  as in- the direction of gravity?  which is also (if you don’t mind me saying) the direction that we should be going.  as in- down.  not up!  i mean, come on people!  we’re fish, not freaking chickadees!

can’t we rethink all this here, people?  find a nice protected cove somewhere, do some mating, see the sights?  no impressions of scaly wet canaries necessary.  whaddya say guys, who’s with me?

Aside from the obvious symbolism, the whole cycle of salmon swimming up river to spawn just seemed too much to believe.
Vanessa, you really are a very good writer.

I have been really busy today to comment properly, sorry for that.

Luckily this video, I once found, came to my mind, check it out, it too speaks about the opposed current.
Eating disorder sufferers are the salmons of the river. Others glide downstream!

even just trying to eat and not b/p feels like swimming upstream today.

Vanessa,

Please keep trying.

Valid-i, I’m not so sure about the whole Abraham-Hicks thing. Seems kind of occultish to me. I think that Vanessa will be swimming up stream for awhile because the stream she is fighting is self-destructive. Until she is able to find a more peaceful stream, she needs to fight her way out of this one.
